n a highly competitive market, companies set goals and seek continuous improvement of their products and processes. Therefore, it is common to apply quality tools to achieve these goals. These tools stand out by increasing the quality of the products, through a statistical analysis of the collected data of the process. Considering the above, the study was carried out in a packaging industry and had as specific focus to analyze and verify the main causes of weight variability of plastic bottles, by applying control charts and calculating the process capacity. For that, three hundred and four bottles of 100 milliliters were weighed. It has been found that the capacity index (Cpk) is below one, which classifies the process as not capable. |
