Resumo: In this work, we attempted to present, adapt and apply the tool called Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, known as FMEA, to verify its effectiveness in the significance of environmental impacts in a reinforced concrete machining company. The tool allowed a better visualization of the residues generated in the production process, thus indi cating an Environmental Management System as waste management as a solution. The FMEA tools were presented in order to adapt them to the process studied. As for the results obtained with this research, the tool proved to be efficient for the purpose of the study, since it accurately established the aspect and the environmental impact, for an evaluation of the severity, evidencing in which process / residue should be ap plied waste management in the company. Corresponding, respectively, to the mode and effect of failure of the process, evaluating the significance of the impact and its influence on the quantity and hazard of the generated waste.
