The study has the theme of inventory management in a medium-sized pharmacy, aiming at the importance of an efficient management of this sector, in order to maintain the adequate levels of materials, ensuring a balance between stocked items and demand, avoiding the waste of raw material due to excess quantity at the time of purchase for example, or the lack of material for the production of the drug, causing the cancellation of the sale and customer dissatisfaction. Thus, the objective was to propose improvements in pharmacy inventory management using tools such as the ABC Curve, which contributes to the control of material levels in the company, allowing managers to pay greater attention to items classified as A, or consumption. Through the ABC Curve, the items with the greatest influence on cost composition were identified and the values of the inventory levels calculated for certain items were presented, with 23 items accounting for 49.59% of the annual purchase cost of subjects in the period corresponding to August 2016 to August 2018. |
