Resumo: This study aimed to implement a computational model to simulate the painting process operational dynamics of the highest turnover product of a furniture industry. The stochastic, discrete and dynamics model was implemented in the Arena® simulation software. As a comparison parameter among the data obtained from the system and generated by the model, the TEFSL variable (Waiting Time in the Sanding Section Queue) was chosen. In the model validation, by the Variance Analysis, statistical differences among the values obtained from the real system and the ones generated by the model were not detected. The simulation results showed that, at the painting sector, the use of two more employees is more advantageous in relation to the employee current number, as well by the painting time point of view as by the piece permanence time in the system.
