The use of statistical tools, such as Statistical Process Control, is interesting to monitor the productive processes, as well as for the evaluation of the quality level presented by this. In this sense, this work presents an analysis of the quality control of the painting process of chairs made of wood by a furniture industry located in western Paraná. The purpose of this research is to determine the behavior of the industry’s productive system in relation to the painting of wooden chairs, monitoring the occurrence of defects, in order to provide the necessary information for making decisions and applying changes. A description of the productive stages was given, as well as the specifications and characteristics thereof. This study is based on in-depth statistical analyzes of the data collected at each point of process inspection, which benefit from Control Letters to identify trends and sequences of fault types. Furthermore, the analysis was stratified by inspection points (which are located at the end of each productive stage) and by types of defects. The results obtained by the analysis have the purpose of guiding the company regarding the implementation of corrective actions in order to improve the final product’s quality. |
