The steel industry currently has a large number of autonomous machines, however, because of the difficulties encountered by the entrepreneurs in the national market, many of the production lines still depend of manual machines, thus recruiting a large number of operators, where are exposed to risks of accidents and occupational diseases due to the obsolescence of machinery. This study is an analysis in a steel industry located in Medianeira, Western Paraná, Brazil. The objective of this study is to analyze and identify ergonomic failures in the work stations, using the OWAS and RULA tools, together with the application of the painful areas. The applied methodology demonstrated the importance of conducting investigations of the work stations. This results in the confirmation of the need for interventions in the work stations of the study and the importance of the modernization of the plant. |
