Resumo: The search for the improvement of activities, as well as the understanding of the actions among employees in different sectors present in the companies, has been considered of great importance for the functioning of its roots. As improvements in their processes are evident, they are condensed and improved for their market practices. In the present study, Process Management is used as the main tool for analyzing activities developed in the Intensive Care Unit at a hospital in the western region of Paraná. That is to say, that as organizations per se, they tend to deepen in studies of development of their products, to deliver quality to their clients aiming to have strategy. What is the measure is a real process, how activities are done in a coordinated and planned way through a number of functional elements, which are the processes. Thus, these processes are enhanced and customer satisfaction is evidenced. Such management allows companies to cover their in-process activities by creating a difference in any labor market. The interesting thing for such improvement of the actions carried out by collaborators in this area is a macro publication of everything that is done. In this study, the mapping of processes was performed as a priority form of the methods used to understand the activities performed by the collaborators within the Intensive Care Unit. This mapping was developed from Process Management and analyzed through on-site visits and also with a daily co-existence with employees. This allowed the development of interviews focused on the main and real needs within the sector according to an internal vision acquired and according to a work vision of the responsible personnel. For example, it was possible to improve the activities in the sector taking into account the effectiveness of the actions and also the minimization of resources used from the understanding of the processes with the computer program Microsoft Visio®.
