As the population, industrial activity and agriculture continues to grow, water consumption, hence the increasing need to keep the waters clean. The textile industries are also major polluters due to the difficulty in treating their effluents. On this way, a study was developed to apply the technique of electroflocculation using an electrode of iron (Fe) in an effluent from a textile industry, evaluating the efficiency in removing color and turbidity at different pH, current intensity and reaction time conditions. For the range of values studied, it is possible to affirm that both the removal of color and turbidity by electroflocculation demonstrated satisfactory results. |
