Resumo: The presence of external interference in the mouth of the river Ocoy, presents a concern, as aquatic flora and fauna are directly affected by agricultural and domestic effluents released him. Such effluent or leachate, in excessive amounts, can cause environmental imbalances, such as the disappearance or the dominance of certain species and eutrophication. Thus, biomonitoring Ocoy mouth of the river, is intended to raise results in relation to environmental changes caused by anthropogenic interference, which might help in future research in the region. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the community structure of periphyton attached algae and associated with aquatic macrophytes that are present in the mouth of the river Ocoy and relate them to some abiotic variables in this environment, offer suggestions for future research in this and other aquatic ecosystems. The methodology for obtaining the biological material, the periphytic microalgae will be collected manually with boat and through the roots of aquatic macrophytes present in this environment. The identification of families, genera and species found in the laboratory was carried out with the aid of an Olympus BX 41 optical microscope coupled to a digital camera and capture software and image processing. The phytoplankton and periphyton identified was the result of collections made in this study, so that the work of identification, it proved to be composed of 60 taxa belonging to 11 taxonomic classes, which were Chlorophyceae, Zygnemaphyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Xanthophyceae, Raphidophyceae, Chlamydophyceae, Eustigmatocpyceae, Rhodophyceae, Chrysophyceae and Prasinophyceae.
