Resumo: This work presents the design and implementation of a modification carried out in an elevator with maximum load capacity of 100 kg of a physico-chemical and biological analysis laboratory of a meatpacking industry. The old elevator often suffered breakages and stoppages due to the constructively of some elements. The modifications include changes in the operation system of the elevator, changing from spindle with gears, to an electric chain hoist , electric system automation, assembly of a new electrical panel controlled by PLC, use of a frequency inverter, barrier optical sensors for openings and inductive sensors for identifying the position of the elevator. The structure and signaling devices and protection were sized and followed the specifications of standards 11 NR, NBR 14712, NBR NM 207. The new lift in a period of about four months (until the presentation of this work) didn't suffer any corrective maintenance.
