Resumo: This paper presents a theoretical review of the key concepts proposed by the aesthetics developed by the Brazilian artist Vik Muniz. This works highlights his major work, the impacts and influences, the processes of creation, the concepts involved in the design of his work, the way he appropriates the materials to use them in a new context, different from the usually expected. It ponders over the ways the world can be looked at with fresh, unconditioned eyes, questioning the concept of art emerged from inanimate objects. The paper presents approaches through comparative exercises to Vik Muniz's work and some moments in the history of art, as the Dada and Pop art. It establishes approximation between the proposals of some Italian designers like Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and some of the Brazilians like Fernando and Humberto Campana. As result of this comparison, there was the reflection on the role of objects/artifacts used in their works, integrating the urban world, the industrial society, everyday life and some artistic expressions. Finally, there is the reinvention of the perception and the meaning of things.
