Resumo: This research is a study of the image of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from their campaign posters. To perform this study, was made an analysis of Lula's campaign posters in the elections of 1989, 1994, 1998 and 2002, based on the methodology of Martine Joly, in the book "Introduction to image analysis", beyond of an comparison with some opponents of Lula in each of the elections. This research brings as results the reflexion of the relevance of design and public image in such an important moment for a country, as is the case of an election.
