This paper presents the design of a children's book for children with visual impairment. The first phase consisted of a literature survey of visual impairment and search for pre - existing materials that could serve as a reference for the creation of a new proposal. The following was initiated field research, which included semi-structured interviews and practical tests to be performed by children with visual impairment, to collect data for the proposed children's book. In its practical phase, this paper presents the development of the generation of alternatives and graphic design, with the creation of graphics, layout, typography, colors and textures . The result was a book suitable for children with low vision , the presence of textured material and miniatures that add tactile and spatial knowledge for blind children, and both visual and tactile for low vision illustrations, plus grasp pages in Braille and visually distinct from each other , which assist in the understanding of the text and its supplements . The book design is complemented by packaging itself as a support for easy transportation and be part of the reading experience. Finally, it presents the possibilities of graphical execution and commercial craft book designed. |
