Resumo: The present theoretical-practical project has as main objective to create a collection of room dividers in cast wood, made of MDF and inspired in the architecture of the Historic Center of Curitiba, Paraná. The author, based on methodologies existing of design projects, adapted the methodology developed for the project. For the theoretical phase, it was made a review of Surface Design, its concepts and applicability, about design, culture and how the surface interacts in an object inserted in the environment. For the concept phase, it was made an overview of the Historic Center of Curitiba and its importance for the city, both culturally and historically. That leaded to create patterns inspired in details of the building’s architecture, using the forms of the surfaces, applying the acquired knowledge in graphic design disciplines (two-dimensional aspect) and product design (three-dimensional aspect). For the development phase, the generation of alternatives was performed through the photographic registers of the place, allowing the development of the patterns to be used in MDF that resulted in the creation of the collection of room dividers in cast wood.
