Today, the practice of reading is intended not only for educational purposes, but also for leisure and entertainment. Researchers say childhood is the most propitious time to create links between the person and reading. In this way, this project is based on the understanding of children's literature as a stimulating factor in the formation of new readers and analyzes the means of understanding the words and, especially, the image in children's books. As a research product, a children's picture book was developed, illustrated and designed by the author. O livro, como veículo de informação, é fonte de conhecimento para todas as idades. Hoje, a prática da leitura é destinada, não só para fins didáticos, mas também para lazer e entretenimento. Como afirmam pesquisadores, a infância é o momento mais propício para estabelecer vínculos entre o indivíduo e a leitura. De tal maneira, este projeto se baseia no entendimento da literatura infantil como fator estimulante na formação de novos leitores e analisa os meios de compreensão da palavra e, principalmente, da imagem nos livros infantis.
