After understanding the market and the specificities of the material, it was chosen the Art Deco style and its manifestations in Brazil’s northeastern as source of inspiration for the creation of the patterns. The images assist in theoretical understanding and highlight one of the main characteristics of the tile: its aesthetic appeal, being nominated for an object of study for graphic designer. Este trabalho propõe o desenvolvimento de uma coleção de azulejos para o mercado brasileiro. Para realizar esta proposta, foi estudada a história da cerâmica e do azulejo, em seu contexto geral, bem como seu processo de manufatura. Após a compreensão do mercado e das especificidades do material, foi escolhido o estilo Art Déco e suas manifestações no nordeste brasileiro como fonte de inspiração para a criação das padronagens.
