Resumo: This document details the processes of research, planning steps, development and production of a comic book inspired by several accounts derived from the cosmology, worldview and mythology of the Mexica culture, as well those of other nahua groups, from Central Mexico, and Mesoamerican peoples in general, chronologically set in the Postclassic period (between 900 and 1521 CE). The plot elements stem from illustrated pre-hispanic sources, or from the early colonial era (16th Century) writings, such as the Legend of the Five Suns and the History of the Mexicans by their Paintings. Interdisciplinarity is used to introduce historical and anthropological concepts which thematically set the purposed story, justify the choices of the construction of the plot, characters, their space and representation, inspired accordingly to the pre-hispanic codices. The goal of this comic book does not address the adaptation of a particular account, but the development and telling of a story that despite relying on one of the written versions of the Legend of the Five Suns, combine with it other traditional pre-hispanic Mexican legends, chosen by the author and illustrator, besides other original plots inspired by aspects of the prehispanic Mesoamerican life.
