This study aimed to evaluate the influences caused by two heights of high and low canopy on the number of individuals and the morphotype of a population of dung beetles, the grazing method was continuous with variable stocking rate Oat pastures (Avena strigosa Schreb.) + ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.), to capture the insects were used pitfal type of pitfall traps. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design in a factorial arrangement (2x2) with three replications. After performing the collection, the captured beetles were counted and classified according to their family and morphotype, having been found 7 families and 2315 individuals distributed in 17 morphotypes. Through analysis, it was shown that in areas of low canopy height (15 cm), the average of beetles captured was below the average of Top height with pickets (30 cm), and these were statistically different, the results for the number of morphotypes showed that the two heights of high and low canopy intensities, did not affect the variety of morphotypes found. |
