This study proposes the evaluation of the impacts of the optimization of the productive process in an electronics industry using linear programming in the production balancing. It seeks to identify the main production constraints in the company's manufacturing process, to propose the necessary adjustments in the production process to mitigate the constraints identified and to make a comparison of the company's total contribution margin obtained in the months of March and April 2018. The study was positive, since it maximized the company's result, evidencing the restrictions and proposing solutions for better utilization of the manufacturing capacity. Using the linear programming of the Microsoft Office Excel Solver® tool, and taking into account system constraints, it was found that the company was able to maximize its contribution margin by an average of 61.5%. This increase is possible by adjusting the production mix, without changing the production capacity and resources already used by the company. The solution presented in this case study will be implemented in a part of the company process where custom software will not understand all constraints encountered in this productive process. |
