Resumo: Pathological manifestations are very common in engineering works and can originate all phases of construction, from errors in the design phase until the misuse and in the absence of preventive maintenance in the building elements. Throughout its useful life, several are the agents that can affect the performance and the durability of a building, causing it to present degradations of levels higher than the desired ones. Performing maintenance activities is fundamental to guarantee the conditions of safety, reliability and performance of the building, increasing its durability and service life. While essential, preventive building maintenance is often seen as a cost, being overlooked in many condos. In this sense, the main objective of this work is to compare the maintenance activities performed in buildings up to five floors in the city of Pato Branco - PR with those recommended by ABNT NBR 5674, the Brazilian standard that presents the requirements for the maintenance management system. For this, initially the work presents a bibliographical revision on the subject to introduce the reader to the subject. Afterwards, the methodology of how the data will be collected to describe the results obtained is described.
