With a shortage of hardwood on the construction market, there is a need to seek sustainable alternatives for the replacement of this wood. The structural use of reconstituted sheet is still a new study in Brazil; however, it is very widespread in the international market. With a view to present some options of wood panels, this work aims to conduct a bibliographical survey of existing reconstituted wood panels, and through laboratory tests, investigate the flexural strength of OSB-cement plates, used in most cases, to executing mezzanines. With the testing results, it has been found that there is a gain of strength and rigidity when we using OSB plates made of afforestation of pinewood in conjunction with two plates of cement, one on each side of the OSB plate. |
