Resumo: Roads have the function of providing the flow of vehicles and people, access to goods and services. Among them, the unpaved roads, which represent a large portion of all national road network, have gained notoriety and are responsible for connecting rural communities to urban centers. Given the precariousness of many Brazilian unpaved roads, due to a lack of planning of the departments responsible for maintenance and a readjustment of these roads according to the service specifications and appropriate techniques, and because of their high cost of maintenance, the goal was to measure de conditions of a stretch of an unpaved road in the town of Pato Branco (PR), identifying its main defects, and, by raising the topographic and traffic data, and soil characteristics, identify the necessary readjustments, proposing therewith some interventions with the intention of providing more durability to road conditions and consequent reduction of maintenance cost. The evaluation showed that the stretch under study requires a readjustment, since it presents poor performance of the bearing surface and deficiency on the drainage system, originating and aggravating the majority of defects existing there. So, some interventions were presented that should be executed in order to improve the road trafficability condition and further maintenance.
