Resumo: This paper presents a study on the behavior of the compression strength of the specimens produced with small natural aggregate and crushing of sand when for the same molding conditions, are produced specimens applying different percentages of recycled aggregate, added to it grinding cement artifacts. Presents concepts of waste generated by civic construction; the classification of solid waste; concepts of recycling; present about the valuation of the RCD in materials that has a cement base, the review also discusses the environmental impacts, analyzes the guidelines for solid waste management and technical standards. Complemented by qualitative and quantitative research used to evaluate which percentage of recycled aggregate has been the best and worst performing for the compressive strength both when applied to specimens produced with natural sand as those produced with “areia de britagem”. Brings as results that the major cement consumption applies in the production of parts with the use of “areia de britagem”, but showed up with the best behavior in considering the mechanical resistance.
