Resumo: With the perspective of reducing environmental impacts, which are generated by extraction of resources need by civil construction, new alternatives are being using. The natural sand is an example of these non-renewable resources, but its extraction attack the environment causing the modification of original rivers channel. Therefore it´s necessary to search new alternatives that replace the natural sand as the natural fine aggregate which is used in mortar and concrete. The purpose of this study is to present some physical characteristics, advantages and viability for the use of fine aggregate which one derives from the crushing process of coarse aggregate. The production and usage of this kind of sand reduces the environmental impact and shows an economic viability because it´s generated in crushing stations and also reduces the freight costs at end use. The current work shows the study for utilization of crushed fine aggregate, using three different samples of aggregate from southwest of Parana state, in full replace of natural fine aggregate in the production of concrete and conventional Portland cement. To prove the technical and economy viability of usage of fine crushed fine aggregate it was analyzed the characteristics of aggregate as particle size composition, index of particle size material and its behavior in the Slump Test using a predefined consistency. A watercement relation was stipulatedas usual concrete with expected resistance of 30 Mpa. With these data it´s was defined a concrete recipe using 100% of crushed fine aggregate. The research shows the results of resistance to simple compression of two cylindrical samples of concrete in the 7th and 14th days. It was verified that the samples didn´t show neither significant difference in the resistance among them nor difference in the resistance compared with usual concrete produced with natural fine aggregate. However one sample shows a better performance in the analyzed aspects having a better relation cost/benefit.
