This paper presents a theoretical investigation about the configuration of the pathological manifestations in structural masonry buildings. Under more focus, it emphasizes the inherent pathologies to structural masonry. The causes that generate problems in masonry structures and the consequences that the appearances of pathologies bring to the structure are studied. It also analyzes the normally used techniques in the treatment of these anomalies. The issues involved in the diagnosis and definition of the best technique to be used as therapy are briefly discussed. Finally, in accordance with the objectives set in the paper, a board is built as an alternative to facilitate the recognition, diagnosis and kind of intervention recommended for each pathological manifestations. |
