As the value of these housing units is too low, it is common the use of dubious quality building materials and hand disqualified work, resulting in the appearance of numerous pathologies. The call Building Performance Standard Housing NBR 15,575, then emerges to describe the minimum standards of quality in homes. In case study in this paper, it can be seen that houses numerous pathologies have actually analyzed, causing some of these risks to users. You can also check the non-compliance of the Standard by the professionals involved, which results in problems for both the locals as with regard to responsibility of professionals. It is also highlighted the lack of supervision by the responsible agencies. As habitações de caráter social, chamadas habitações populares servem para atenuar a dificuldade da população de poder aquisitivo mais baixo em realizar a compra da casa própria. Como o valor dessas unidades habitacionais é muito baixo, é comum o emprego de materiais de construção de qualidade duvidosa e mão de obra desqualificada, resultando no aparecimento de inúmeras patologias. A chamada Norma de Desempenho de Edificações Habitacionais NBR 15.575, surge então para descrever os padrões mínimos de qualidade nas habitações. Com o estudo de caso realizado neste trabalho, pode-se observar que as casas analisadas realmente apresentam inúmeras patologias, algumas destas ocasionando riscos aos utilizadores. Pode-se também verificar o não cumprimento da Norma por parte dos profissionais envolvidos, o que resulta em problemas tanto para os moradores quanto no que diz respeito a responsabilidade dos profissionais.
