Road transportation is the most widely used system for moving passengers and cargo transportation in Brazil. Adding this to the turbulent and inordinate growing of the cities, there is a need for pedestrian walkway implementation over highways, an essential security element. These walkways are usually built without deep studies of deployment and use, so that public money is often misapplied, since pedestrians - target audience of this construction - wind up not taking advantage of it. This work comes to show the importance of a better use of walkways, as well as the security provided for them by decreasing traffic accidents involving pedestrians. All this through a case study on the walkway insertion region and a project of an attractive architectural design to the public. |
