Resumo: The pavement is an important component of the urban infrastructure, executed in order to provide safety, comfort and economy to the bearing. Its performance is a function of traffic demands, climatic factors, but also of maintenance and rehabilitation activities during its useful life. The management of pavements is the system that aims to plan the decisions regarding the activities related to pavements, to optimize the application of investments. In this work, some methods of obtaining the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) were analyzed in order to investigate alternative ways of obtaining data for Urban Pavement Management Systems (UPMS) feeding. Therefore, a field defect survey was necessary for subsequent application of some ICP methods: (1) ICP method adapted from the Asphalt Institute (AI) worksheet and based on the defects considered by the SHRP Program (Strategic Highway Research Program) (2) ICP method proposed by Zanchetta (2005), (3) ICP method proposed by Zanchetta (2017), (4) ICP method proposed by Páez (2015) with analysis of 15 defects, (5) method proposed by Páez (2015) with analysis of 10 defects and (6) method of the ICP proposed by Páez (2015), with analysis of 5 defects. With the ICP values, an analysis of the results obtained from the different methods was carried out, based on the indicative of the condition of the structure and interventions at the network level. It can be noticed that the particularities of the methods interfere in the results. Simplifications to increase the practicality of the survey may not provide an adequate intervention indicative, which shows the importance of a subjective analysis by specialized professionals as a basis for the calibration of defect scoring bands and their weighting factors. At the project level, it was suggested the necessary interventions for the defects found, as well as the continuity of monitoring of the sections evaluated, in accordance with the objectives of the pavement management.
