Resumo: This work presents an analysis of the behavior of hot spots using optical fiber sensors based on Bragg gratings, for the monitoring of a photovoltaic panel. The main goal is to understand how these hot spots, which negatively affect the panel's performance, are formed and how is their behavior over the panel's operating time. Images obtained with a thermal camera on the front face of the panel are used to determine the regions with the highest temperature gradients, and the optical fiber sensors are used to measure the points of higher temperatures monitoring their behavior in certain operating profiles. The use of these sensors allows the monitoring of asignificant number of temperature points on the front surface of the photovoltaic panel, because, due to their size and their multiplexing capacity, the sensors can be arranged in series to monitor a large number of hot spots. Temperatures up to 70 ° C were observed, when the panel was in operation. Through the data obtained in the continuous monitoring of the hot spots, points are observed that surpassed in 3.0 ºC other points in the same cell.
