Resumo: In this work the modeling and analysis stages of an urban traffic system, com- posed of a set of roads and crossings with traffic control through traffic lights, are presented. Modeling of the system using Petri nets, evaluation of the models with static parameters and with variation of values. Simulation of the models developed with the use of the tool TimeNet 4.4. Firstly, by means of a model survey for a simple 4-way crossing, the model was then incremented to a set of 10 roads and 3 crossings. The work shows, then, that from the composition of simple models, which represent only a cross, one can evolve to the representation of a system with larger dimensions and complexity.
