Taking these questions, then, the aspects related to the work and its source system, that is, its production context, were approached in a first moment, in which through a bibliographical study based on Golway (2000), Hunter (2003), Kee (1972) Máire e O’Brien (1997) Foster (1988), Alexander (2007), Carter e MacRae (2001), the various factors that led to the construction of this satire, from the historical context, as well as the factors related to Swift's life, were discussed. Later on, in order to discover how the work was translated into the Portuguese Language and the Brazilian polysystem, two distinct target texts, one developed by Helena Barbas (2004) and another Dorothée de Bruchard (1993), were then analyzed. Both translations thus became the focus of the systematic and descriptive analysis of the translation that was based on the studies developed by Itamar Iven-Zohar (1989), Toury (2002), Lambert & Van Gorp (2011), Berman (2007), Lanzetti (2008). The results of this study, both bibliographical and analytical, show that, despite the predominance of different translation tendencies, the first one (Barbas) was the domesticator and the second, the foreigneizer one. The highest contrast was observed not only in the transposition of irony and argumentative strategies, but also in the discovery that the works were linked to two different systems of the Portuguese Language, one Portuguese and the other one Brazilian, thus generating significant changes in the lexicon and syntax of the text. O presente estudo sobre a obra Modesta Proposta de Jonathan Swift, foi desenvolvido com o intuito de investigar os diversos elementos que contribuíram para que a obra se tornasse um cânone do gênero satírico da literatura Inglesa/Irlandesa e mundial, assim como investigar como as traduções da crítica social da obra Modesta Proposta foram desenvolvidas a fim de transpor os elementos do polissistema literário Irlandês/Inglês para o polissistema literário brasileiro. Tomando esses questionamentos, então, foram abordados em um primeiro momento os aspectos relacionados à obra e seu sistema fonte, ou seja, seu contexto de produção, no qual por meio de estudo bibliográfico com base em Golway (2000), Hunter (2003), Kee (1972) O’Brien (1997) Foster (1988), Alexander (2007), Carter e MacRae (2001), foram discutidos os diversos fatores que levaram a construção dessa sátira, desde o contexto histórico, como também os próprios fatores relacionados a vida de Swift. Posteriormente, a fim de descobrir como a obra foi traduzida para a Língua Portuguesa e o polissistema brasileiro, foram então tomados para análise dois textos-alvo distintos, um deles desenvolvido por Helena Barbas (2004) e outro Dorothée de Bruchard (1993). As duas traduções, assim, se constituíram o foco da análise sistemática e descritiva da tradução que teve como base os estudos desenvolvidos por Itamar Iven-Zohar (1989), Toury (2002), Lambert & Van Gorp (2011), Berman (2007), Lanzetti (2008). A partir deste estudo realizado, tanto bibliográfico quanto analítico, o que se constatou com o estudo das duas obras traduzidas foi que, apesar do predomínio de tendências tradutórias diferentes, sendo a primeira (Barbas) a domesticadora e a segunda estrangeirizante, o contraste maior observado entre elas não se deu apenas na transposição da ironia e das estratégias argumentativas, mas também na descoberta de que as obras estavam vinculadas a dois sistemas diferentes de Língua Portuguesa, um português e outro brasileiro, gerando significativas mudanças no léxico e na sintaxe do texto. 2020-11-18T14:23:27Z 2020-11-18T14:23:27Z 2017-12-05 bachelorThesis FOSCHIERA, Renan Cesar Venazzi.
