In this sense, this Course Conclusion Paper has as an objective to analyze the novel Pride and Prejudice, concerning to the feminine represented in that time and the marriages in the novel, by verifying the author’s critics towards this subject. The methodological procedures were based on a bibliographical research in books, scientific articles, theses, and dissertations, which have Pride and Prejudice as an object of research and analysis. O romance Orgulho e Preconceito (1813),da escritora inglesa Jane Austen, faz uma crítica à sociedade burguesa da Inglaterra do final do século XVIII e início do século XIX, demonstrando o papel da mulher submissa e resignada numa sociedade em que sua participação segue de acordo com os interesses, as restrições e os posicionamentos sociais patriarcais dentro de uma comunidade hierárquica, dividida em três classes sociais: a aristocracia, a burguesia e a classe trabalhadora, onde o casamento era uma instituição patriarcal de aprisionamento e roubo da identidade das mulheres envolta nas amarras da sociedade. Com isso, este Trabalho de conclusão de curso tem por objetivo analisar o romance Orgulho e Preconceito, no que diz respeito ao feminino representado naquela época e aos casamentos da obra, verificando as críticas da autora sobre este assunto.
