Resumo: |
The present work has as its object of study the novel Ópera dos Mortos, written by Autran Dourado in 1967. The main objective was to analyze three characters whose behavior and/or changes during the narrative apparently refer to madness. The analyzed characters were the hiker named Juca Passarinho, the colonel João Capistrano Honório Cota and his daughter Rosalina. To ground this research was used the authors’ works that focus on the study of madness and of human behavior changes were taken to base this research. To understand the madness in general, Michel Foucault (1972) has given the necessary support. As for the differences between pathology, norm, normality and changes of identity were used studies of João Frayze-Pereira’s (1984), Georges Canguilhem’s (2009) studies were used as well as some appointments of Antonio da Costa Ciampa (2001). For the analysis, concerning the relations in Ópera dos Mortos as a "circle" that surrounds the characters and the social environment in the analysis was used the work of Roberto Reis (1987). Moreover, during the analysis, there was a correlation between elements from thr Greek mythology and some Juca Passarinho’s and Rosalina’s peculiarities. Finally, it was established from the analysis that the characters of Ópera dos Mortos have behavioral changes due to the pressure/repression of the patriarchal order and identity search. |
