To achieve this goal, data were collected through semi-structured interviews made with four teachers from a federal university located in the Southwest of Paraná. The answers of the interviews were recorded in audio and transcribed for further analysis. In the analysis, the collected data were organized into thematic topics, following the conceptions that were brought up by the educators. The results of the analysis showed that since literary texts are authtentic and endowed with rich cultural content, they can contribute to an English language teaching that values students’ integral education. In addition, literature enables the student to acquire culture and language skills simultaneously with the critical appropriation of the language. Com o objetivo de discutir e apresentar formas de melhorar o ensino de Língua Inglesa na Educação Básica, o presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso tem por objetivo apresentar uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo interpretativista que investigou as concepções de quatro professores universitários quanto à utilização de textos literários nas aulas de Língua Inglesa na Educação Básica. Para atingir tal objetivo, os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas realizadas com quatro professoras de uma universidade federal localizada no Sudoeste do Paraná. As respostas das entrevistas foram gravadas em áudio e transcritas para posterior análise. Na análise os dados das entrevistas foram organizados em tópicos temáticos, seguindo as concepções levantadas pelos professores. Os resultados da análise revelam que os textos literários, por se tratarem de textos autênticos e dotados de conteúdo cultural rico, podem contribuir para um ensino de Língua Inglesa que prese pela formação integral do sujeito, uma vez que a Literatura oportuniza ao aluno a aquisição de competências culturais e linguísticas simultaneamente com a apropriação crítica da língua. 2020-11-18T14:26:01Z 2020-11-18T14:26:01Z 2016-11-23 bachelorThesis COSSA, Matheus.
