It expresses a longing about some good aspect from the past meanwhile demonstrates a desire to return to that moment. Due to the fact that nostalgia is inherent to the human being, it permeates the men’s utterances. Hence it is relevant to understand this feeling by the speech point of view. Considering this, the monography had as study object the nostalgic speech. More specifically, such topic was analyzed from a corpus which includes Revista Ferrovia editorials published between the year of 1935 and 1982. Altogether they are 87 editorials and this is possibly the first time the Revista Ferrovia will be subject to some linguistic-discursive study. The study is based primarily on the Bakhtin’s theory of speech genres (cf. 2011). It states that the formulated utterances reflect specific conditions of each sphere of human activity, either through its content, through its verbal style or its compositional construction. Consequently, the nostalgia emerges in speech and reveals itself as an important feature of the railway collective. Taking the aforementioned theory into consideration, the overall objective was to observe the relatively stable form of nostalgia manifestation in the editorials speech. Moreover, it was possible to establish links between the use of nostalgia and human development of the nostalgic being. O sentimento da nostalgia marca com inegável profusão a relação do ser humano com o presente. Expressa saudades de um aspecto bom do passado ao tempo que demonstra desejo de retornar a ele. Devido ao fato de a nostalgia ser algo inerente ao ser humano, aquela permeia os enunciados deste. Logo se faz relevante compreender esse sentimento do ponto de vista do discurso. Tendo isso em vista, este trabalho de conclusão de curso teve como objeto de estudo o discurso nostálgico. Mais especificamente tal tema foi analisado a partir de um corpus que compreende editoriais da Revista Ferrovia publicados entre o ano 1935 e 1982. Ao todo se computam 87 editoriais e, ao que se verifica, essa é possivelmente a primeira vez que a Revista Ferrovia será objeto de algum estudo linguístico-discursivo. O estudo fundamenta-se primordialmente na teoria dos gêneros discursivos de Bakhtin (cf. 2011). Ela afirma que os enunciados formulados refletem condições específicas de cada esfera da atividade humana, seja por meio de seu conteúdo, por meio de seu estilo verbal ou por sua construção composicional. Em consequência, a nostalgia transparece no discurso e se revela como um traço importante do coletivo ferroviário. Levando a citada teoria em consideração, o objetivo geral foi observar a forma relativamente estável da manifestação da nostalgia no discurso dos editoriais.
