Resumo: This research was conducted to perform a discursive analysis of the meanings created by the subjects from the photographic image of violence in childhood. The methodology of this research applied to this a semi-structured interview and the analysis material was exposed to adults who spoke about the meanings that give the object analyzed. It is an analysis of the discursive process motivated by the readings and interpretations made by the subjects in pictures. This work is based on the semiotic theory of discourse and discursive structure, since the image passes through the eye of a subject. The problem identified is summarized is the following question: how does the participation of the reader in the formation of meanings of photography happen? Thus the aim of the study is to conduct a discursive analysis of the meanings created by the subjects from the photographic image of violence in childhood. The specific objectives of this research are: to describe the main concepts of the theory of signs, characterizing semiotics, to understand the relationships between verbal and non-verbal language from reading the images. The fact that we live surrounded by images, which have several meanings, and being the trainer of photography opinion, making her an object of ideological interests and able to persuade the public, led me to choose the analysis of the photograph. In the analyzes of this study, it proved to be great subjectivity, this does not follow a pattern, it is influenced culture and the experiences gained by the subject, proving that a picture really refers many meanings.
