Resumo: Starting from the idea that education is one of the main axis in the formation and development of the citizens, an attentive look is necessary to the main agents of this process, the teacher and the school. In this sense, the present research has as its theme the representation of these agents, teacher and school, in the youth literature. The choice of the theme was due to the fact that this is of great importance, but it's not treated or viewed positively by society. It is based on the understanding that the teacher and the school play a significant role in the training of the citizens, thus, contributing positively to the society evolution. The purpose of the proposal was to observe how the teacher and the school are represented in the youth literature, seeking the importance of the role of the teacher and the school in the students’ formation. For that, two pieces of youth literature were selected, they are: Uma escola assim, eu quero pra mim (2007), by Elias José; and Pinóquio às avessas (2010), by Rubem Alves. These works present in their content a reflection about the school, the role of the teacher, and the representations ofthe triple school-teacher-student. The analysis and discussion of these books was based on basements discussed in Pedagogia da Autonomia: Saberes Necessários à Prática Educativa (FREIRE, 2014), previously selected according to the theme studied. In this sense, the research was developed in a bibliographic character, having as main focus of the analysis the contributions, besides Paulo Freire, authors that discuss aspects related to education, such as: Nóvoa (1995), Lajolo and Zilberman (1999), Chalita (2001), Geraldi (1984) Saviani (1991), Gatti (2013) as well as others. The discussion based on the reading of the works, with the support of the literature, showed that the teacher's posture, and the school as a whole, are factors that contribute significantly to the good performance of teaching / learning. It is not only the teachers the responsible for this process, but their roles are fundamental for the student to succeed and / or fail in their school journey.
