Resumo: Organic chemistry is of great importance to the basic curriculum of students in high school, moreover, is a fundamental part of any living human being, because it is essential to understand from news to everyday information to the functioning of our body by producing urea and glucose, for example. A proposal to improve the teaching - learning was to develop an alternative methodology that could be used to complement the current teaching that emphasizes the theory, used by many teachers and sees alternative methodologies that involve different activities as a supplement at the end of the year . For this, we did a survey of data in a single public school in the city of Pato Branco, Paraná state, with two classes of third year of high school. The methodology was applied and the data obtained it was proven effective and significant contribution to this teaching method suitable for the increase in the percentage of correct classes, thus verifying that the alternative methodology assists and collaborates in the teaching of hydrocarbons in high school.
