Resumo: The increase in the availability of distributed energy resources (DER) and the evolution of information technology devices that helped advance the connectivity between microgrids provided means for new formats of energy commercialization with the emergence of local energy markets (LEM). The Blockchain, technology parallel to this phenomenon, emerges as an alternative to make energy markets safer and more efficient. However, like LEMs, the technology in question is in the initial state of development and is limited to the regulatory challenges that each locality requires for its own energy market. The work analyzes how Blockchain is currently present within the context of electrical energy when conducting a systematic literature review (SLR) and verified the adoption profile of the countries in relation to the LEMs and the Blockchain and briefly presents an analysis of the Brazilian regulatory conditions in relation to the theme. It is concluded that Blockchain is not a sufficiently mature technology to be applied in the context of electric power, even with significant progress and testing in operation, and depends on more operational advances to be used on a large scale on the applications in question. In Brazil, regulatory advances are being made but there is no guarantee that there is a legalization of the commercialization of electricity between microgrids in the short term.
