Resumo: Understanding the bases that regulate the ingestive behavior in grazing ruminants is a complex task due to its multifactorial nature. A comprehensive and solid knowledge about this subject can allow the optimization of animal management actions, generate production gains, optimize the use of resources, avoid wasting such as overgrazing, enable the identification of diseases and promote animal welfare. Many individual monitoring electronic devices have been developed over the years with the purpose of acquiring data that could help in the task of better understanding the ingestive behavior and the factors involved, however, in some cases the methods may be impracticable, or in most cases it does not allow remote monitoring through a wireless connection. When the wireless connection is present, usually it is suitable just for shortrange communications. Against this background, this work has the objective of developing a biological signal acquisition system using the surface electromyography technique, providing a long distance wireless communication system, allowing to obtain a research tool that meets the reality of the brazilian production system, based essentially on the use of pasture.
