Resumo: In the last decades, the mobile technologies have undergone an astonishing process of development, becoming an indispensable tool in the performance of the labor and personal activities. In this context, the BYOD movement emerges, which is characterized by the adoption of personal mobile devices in the work environment for the performance of work activities. BYOD generates several advantages in the production process, from the flexibility of the work day, ease of adoption and increased productivity. But also, there are disadvantages such as the complexity of operation, maintenance of data security and the inseparability of works. The use of personal mobile devices is also a reality in the educational institutions environment. The observation of the use, implies in the increase of the consumption of electrical energy, typical behavior associated to the connection of the devices to the electric power network as means of recharge. Therefore, this research has the objective of identifying the impacts of the use of personal mobile devices in the consumption of electric energy in the UTFPR - Pato Branco, in order to evaluate, organize and discuss the standardization of this practice in accordance with organizational values. For that, the case study was used as a method, with documentary analysis and research survey. The population of interest comprised the TAs, professors and academics of UTFPR- Pato Branco. However, it was observed that the impacts on the consumption of electric energy are remarkably relevant, and that 20.19% of the electricity bill for the month of analysis is due to the use of personal mobile devices in connection with the electricity grid of the campus. Finally, it was proposed the implementation of a CYOD policy, associated to the MIM or MDM management technique, as a subsidy for the elaboration of a policy for the use of mobile devices in UTFPR - Pato Branco.
