Resumo: This research presents a theoretical conceptual approach formulated in the principles of the polymer processing approaching the concepts of the components of the injection and extrusion equipment. It addresses in detail the specific thread sizes for the different types of polymers and of the processes discussed, the research has as key point the best use of the equipment for the use with academic purpose, being dimensioned and designed to attend the studies in controlled laboratory environment, The approach is complemented in the design of metal molds for the production of special test bodies for polymers according to ASTM. The approach on polymer extrusion contemplates its total modulus from its basic operation to the application of its matrix and its cooling modulus. The research was completed with the increment of a field research carried out in the industrial environment of the company of injection polymers, located in Curitiba - PR, where it was discussed what would be the improvements aimed at the manufacture of parts processed from the injection of polymers. Multi-point injection, hot-chamber injection molding, the appropriate conclusions about these approaches are being presented in the form of complementary studies for this research. The result of the research is presented in the form of the hybrid Injection / Extrusion equipment, according to the necessary components necessary to satisfactorily meet such equipment, are presented at the end of the research the equipment assembled and properly detailed for their production.
