This monograph aims to design the structure of a model airplane that respects the requirements determined by the regulation of the competition SAE Brazil AeroDesign - Regular Class. A literature review was carried out on model aircraft, fundamentals of fluid dynamics, and design of aeronautical structures. The model airplane designed has rectangular wing with Selig 1210 airfoil. The fuselage is designed with truss structure. The empennage selected is arranged in a conventional type, rectangular on the horizontal stabilizer and trapezoidal on the vertical stabilizer, using the airfoil NACA 0012. The landing gear is arranged in a tricycle type and the engine is the O.S. 0.55 AX. The mass of the model aircraft resulted in approximate 2.3 kg with freight carrying capacity of 2.8 kg. |
