Resumo: Nowadays solar energy captation systems are increasingly common and necessary for the innovation in the energy production systems, once renewable energy sources will be the key for the sustainability and environmental maintenance of the future of our planet. In this context, arise the Linear Fresnel Concentration System which uses plane mirrors to reflect the sun rays, and thus it has a low cost of construction. Applications that use captation from this kind of solar concentration system, they need the utilization of solar trackers in order to achieve high efficiency in the solar radiation reflection on the concentrator. From the necessity of the tracker utilization in Linear Fresnel Concentrator Systems, this research shows a theoretical and construction approach of a LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) which will be used for the monitoring and characterization of precision in the movement realized by captation mirrors of sunlight applied to this technology. The implementation of the sensor will be performed in order to achieve a high precision in the solar tracker. This precision should be sufficient for a subsequent elimination of secondary concentrators. The work will be mainly focused in the theoretical design and in the construction of a linear displacement sensor LVDT, for application in a solar tracker with solar panels type Fresnel. Consequently an approach in systems of solar energy concentration are parts mentioned in this research.
