Brazil is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of world foods, being the third largest producer of corn. Grown in different production systems, the smallest part of the production meets consumption in the tables of Brazilians, with the primary target industries of animal feed. For this
product is quality, the agro-industries cereal are responsible for storing and drying of these grains, where burning wood is used as an energy source. The wood most used in this process is the wood
stemmed Eucalyptys trees for reforestation. Strengthening this activity causes also increase the volume of waste that remains of the drying process of these grains, ash eucalyptus wood (AEW). AEW is a withdrawal of biomass boilers and comprise a mixture of oxidized minerals, silica and organic
carbon burned completely. The ash from agribusiness can be used as pozzolans. These have the ability to react with the calcium hydroxide liberated during the hydration of cement, forming stable compounds power binder having the potential to be used as a mineral addition to yield new construction materials and sustainable economic given the increasing demand that currently requires
this area. Thus, in this work will be used ash eucalyptus wood, with evaluation of its pozzolanic and physical and chemical characteristics, the partial replacement of Portland cement in mortar. To this
was molded specimens of mortar with additions of 0, 5, 10, 15 and the MSC 20% replacement of Portland cement. Through analyzes and tests it can be seen that the use of eucalyptus wood ash in partial replacement of Portland cement is not feasible, since the compressive strength of the samples decreases with the increase in the proportion of gray the cement. All tests corroborate the fall of resistance displayed by specimens. |
