Resumo: The pesticide compounds used in agriculture to combat undesirable vectors and ensure greater productivity, has been studied for its intensive use in the last 40 years. Despite the benefits, the problem of poisoning by agricultural chemicals especially by the group of organochlorine pesticides worries the authorities, especially the fact that intoxication occurs by gradual ingestion of these products that contaminate water, soil and foods. Given this issue, the technological advance search using analytical methods that are effective in monitoring pesticide residues. Thus, this study aimed to conduct a qualitative study of organochlorine pesticides in fatty matrices from the analysis of gas chromatography with electron capture detector, checking the maximum residue limits (MRLs) for the compounds under study, and evaluating preparation and extraction of different samples of animal fat. The results were satisfactory for the qualitative parameters, demonstrating specificity of the method from the chromatograms. Moreover, the results are very important process contributing to the end of the method - analytical validation.
