Resumo: This research is inserted in the analytic and inorganic chemistry, and aims to develop studies of extraction and characterization of nickel and lead chelates with 8-hydroxyquinoline by spectrophotometry in the visible region. It starts from the assumption that the concentration of different metal / ligandt originates a better complexation of the metals under study, due to 8-hydroxyquinoline main characteris is presumed to be a bidentate ligant and extremely dependent on the environmental inner reaction (Zorel et al, 2001). With the aid of scanning spectrophotometer measure, the maximum absorbance and ligand field transitions, with the spectra obtained scanning was possible to analyze and determine what proportion of metal / ligand interaction is between the molecules, ie, the extent to which is the formation of complexes with more ligands on the metal, and to make the complex more stable.
