Resumo: A selection of alternative options to chemical acaricides for the control of Dermanyssus gallinae (red mite) lead producers to seek alternative control methods. The present work aimed to evaluate under efficiency of different products not suitable for the control of D. gallinae red mite under laboratory and field conditions. In the laboratory, seven procedures were applied that consisted of six repetitions with 25 mites each (n = 150), being: a) control (water); b) 20% sodium hypochlorite; c) 5% mineral oil; d) 10% detergent; e) 20% diatom earth (TD); f) unformulated Beauveria bassiana fungus (Unioeste 88); g) B. bassiana formulated in emulsifiable oil (idem; 1 × 109 conidia / ml). Treatments were evaluated as direct and residual contact methods on filter paper, paper and wood substrates. Under field conditions, five options were selected from the laboratory tests, with 8 repetitions each. In the laboratory, treatments with detergent, TD, unformulated fungus and oil-formulated fungus include, occasionally, the highest mortality rates in the substrates used. Regarding the field experiment, up to 14 days after the first application it was not possible to verify the application effect (hypochlorite, TD, mineral oil, formulated fungus). In the evaluation after 21 days, one DT and one fungus formulated the smallest population of mites, which maintained in the reviews with 28 and 35 days. Thus, the results selected here demonstrate the isolated potential Unioeste 88 of the fungus B. bassiana formulated in emulsifiable oil and not formulated, and a TD for D. gallinae control, as a probable tactic to be incorporated in the management of this pest. Further studies are needed to verify the potential of other applicable products, which also show promise in some conditions.
