In the fabrication of plastic bodies, the product integrity is directly related with his quality. The appearing of micro holes during the cooling down of the plastic mold is one of the problems of this process that compromises the final product quality. This work describes the project and development of a microcontrolled device for analysis and detection of micro holes in HDPE bottle. The system developed pressurizes a bottle for 5 seconds and can detect micro holes down to 0.25 mm by measuring the temporal pressure drop of the bottle. A pressure sensor was used to convert the pressure measured in an electrical signal. This signal is transmitted to a microcontroller that analysis the signal and then decides about the presence, or not, of micro fissures in the bottle. The device can also send the pressure data measured to a computer for further study on the pressure curves. |
