Resumo: The characterization of environments by measuring impulsive responses is required for venues that need special attention on the acoustic, such as theaters, mo-vie theaters and public houses. The characterization allows to map the acoustic state of the environment and provide possibilities to improve it acoustically. In this work the characterization is performed by applying Maximum-Length Sequence (MLS) and Time-Stretched Pulse (TSP) as acoustic test signals. MLS and the TSP method are based on the basic concepts of correlation and convolution. The procedures of re-production of the generated signals by the methods and the impulse response deter-mination will be demonstrated, also the steps required to process this responses and get the acoustic characterization. In addition, the developed system will be used for characterization and measure of the effective quality or design flaws in acoustic source like speaker and acoustic receiver like microphone.
